A Letter

My friend, I invite you to grow with me,

Even though we are experiencing different passages Time still passes for both of us.

I've seen sand dunes move, How about you? I've experienced brotherhood in different lands, And you?

I've traveled --this is true --I go forward by getting back.

But when I return, We should share. Over vodka and cranberries, or just a cup of coffee with that cake with sugary crumbs all over it.

That's you and me. We will be there. Exchanging experiences, ideas, Silly platitudes, and basic expectations.

We'll look at each other's eyes—still the same as always; Count fingers and toes—still all there; Measure waist lines—gotten so big.

Gotten so big Gotten so tall,

Yeah you're all grown up now Hope to see you there, Friend—

All grown up.
